IF function which returns the text from a cell

Is it somehow possible to make a IF function which returns the text (e.g.
someone's name) from one cell if the value in another cell is correct. I only
know how to make an IF function which returns a NUMBER value.

Yes it is possible, you just reference the cell with the name in or pu
the name in " " in your if statement
