iexplore.exe not releasing

Frank

First let me appologize. Yesterday I posted this issue,
but had an error in the file name. The process that is not
releasing is in fact iexplore.exe. Sorry for the
confusion.

I have identified a problem with IE6 which I have running
on Windows XP Pro. Each time I close my IE6 Browser, the
iexplore.exe file does not release (identified in Process
in the Task Manager). This file takes up between 17k to
22K of memory. I've looked for a browsing option in the
Internet Options screens but am unable to find anything
that looks like it may help.

Any Suggestions? Thanks in Advance

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
