When I do ctrl-altl-del, I see several iexplore.exe
running. When I end task on them, then this will free up
my system. My system will have programs minimized at the
bottom but I am unable to open until I shut down
iexplore.exe programs. I am running WinXP Professional
with IE 6.

You should only have one instance of iexplore.exe running. What does a
scan with a current antivirus program (meaning a version not later than
2002 and using updated virus definitions) show?

"Don't Panic!"
.

I have run NAV 2002 scan and no viruses found.
Definitions are up to date. I have spykiller 2003 and it
finds nothing. Everytime I start IE 6.0 and end, the
other programs I have running remain on task bar and I
can't maximize until I end task on iexplore.exe, every
how many there are. They are just not shutting down when
I close browser.

What changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?
