Hi I have no idea how to fix this but I am trying to use the IEEE ports for a
Sony video recorder but according to management there is a "device cannot
start (code 10)" comes up and trying to update the drivers requires a disk
which I dont have. I have fully updated Windows but there is still a black n
yellow exclamation mark next to VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1349 Host Controller.
Please Help!!!

is your IEEE 1349 host controller on your motherboard or do you have PCI card?
what make and model computer?

XP may have misidentified the firewire controller, as this one is supported.

The Sony video recorder code 10 problem may be resolved by this:

SP1/SP2 provided some firewire fixes as noted here:

Am using a Texas Instruments chip Firewire card. Acom Firewire drive
enclosure, JVC firewire connected camcorder/video camera, and firewire
network to a HP laptop for file sharing. It all works in XP w/SP2, ME, and
98SE. ME OS has not seen windows update or the internet ever. With the
exception of the firework network in 98SE which is not supported.
