The above link leads to a list of newsgroups. The IE8 has nothing in it
nor does it work at all!

Oreally

That is because the newsgroups are being removed from MS servers. IE
General has already been removed. The Web interface, (the link you
posted), is just a 'back door' to the newsgroup, but since it's gone, the
Web interface won't work either.

You need another news server like Eternal September to access the
newsgroup.

Wow...........they really like to make it easy for us! BTW.......Eternal
September keeps asking to enable cookies...which I've done....This site
appears useless as well!

There are many news servers available. Google for them.

IE General newsgroup was removed from the MS newsserver in early July; cf.
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/default.mspx

While it's still accessible via some non-MS newsservers (and Google
Groups*), there's not much relevant traffic now.

You will find support for Internet Explorer in this MS forum now:
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/threads

Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; WinXP 64-bit SP2;
Vista SP1; Vista 64-bit SP2; Win7; Win7 64-bit) as well as your current IE
version (e.g., IE6, IE7, IE8) in your first post.

You need to use the web site only long enough to register. Then forget
about it and use your Usenet client. No more cookies.
