I have some Favorites on my notebook's IE8, but I have a more complete set of
Favorites on my desktop.

I just want to 'get rid' of the Favorites on the notebook and substitute the
Favorites from my desktop.

Is there any way to transfer the Favorites from the desktop to the notebook
without having duplicate Favorites on the notebook.

Open IE on your desktop, and click on File, Import and Export, select Export
Favorites, and select a location to save the file. Your Desktop would be a
good place. Copy the file to a USB pen or floppy disk (if both computers
have a floppy drive).
Open IE on your notebook, click on Favorite, Organize Favorites, and delete
any of them that you don't want. Close IE. Copy the file from your pen to
your notebook Desktop. Open IE, click on File, Import and Export, and select
Import Favorites, browse to the file on your desktop, and finish the
operation. That should do it.

Please state the IE versions and full Windows versions (e.g., WinXP SP3;
