IE7 using massive amounts of ram

If I run tabbed windows or if I open separate ones, memory usage
builds/increases
over several hours. The only way to reclaim the used memory(sometimes a gig,
runs into virtual memory)
is to close all of the open explorer windows. The used memory is restored
very shortly after the last window is closed. I use the performance chart in
task manager as a guide.
I like the speed of IE7 and additional features but there seems to be a
memory hog bug somewhere in it.
I have a gig of memory which is enough for my uses.
IE6 never caused this memory problem on this computer.

I hope a service pack is forthcoming or at the very least a fix should be
made available.
