If we want to kill this process inthe Task Manager, which is the process we
must kill?

Likewise if there are no icons on the desktop, which new task must we
initiate?

Many thanks for your help

The 'task name' of Internet Explorer (any version number) is :

iexplore.exe

That is the name you must click on in 'Task Manager' to end this
process.

Likewise; if you want a desktop icon to Internet Explorer, right-click
on an empty area of the desktop and choose 'New' > 'Shortcut'

Then navigate to :

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

Hope this help you out.

Many thanks to all of you and will try the solutions.

How about, how to get all the icons back onthe desktop instead of
iexplorer/ece.

Thanks
