I have been getting a few "Sorry IE7 has encountered a problem and must
close." or close to that anyway. It will happem several times in a short
period of time and then hours without a problem. Is there a way to repair the
install?

TIA!

It may well not be IE7, though it's hard to tell from what you've told us.

Errors like this are often the result of add-ins. In IE, go to Tools,
Manage Add-Ins, and turn them all off.

If it's now stable, it's not IE itself.

From there, turn the add-ins back on, one at a time.

Also, download, install and run ccleaner - www.ccleaner.com . I would
suggest, though you many want it, not installing the toolbar options; it's
yet another IE add-in.

Let ccleaner clear the caches and the temp folders. This may go a long way
towards solving the problems.

1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).
