Well legitamitly you CANT do that IE 5.0 and above is integrated into the operating system thats the big reason why micorsoft is having to deal with soem of these anti-trust lawsuits and what not they claim IE is nescerray for the windows OS to run properly but i did read about soem guy who re-engineered a version of windows without IE and it worked fine even used several other non microsoft web browsers with no probvlem at all might be able to find a way to just re-install Ie over top of itself to correct whatever problem you might have although I am not sure how you would do taht with just IE and not all of windows
