IE6.X randomly restricting cookies

R

Ralf Scharnowski

IE6.X appears to randamly restrict some website
information. The privacy report typically displays that
cookies from a site are blocked because of a specific
graphics file. All security settings are set to default.
For example when viewing www.bargainbookstores.com the
file Coupons.jpg causes cookies to be blocked and pops up
the "Do not Enter" symbol at the bottom of the browser
window.

This behavior is random. Will display these syptoms one
day but not the next.

Does anyone have an explaination why a graphics file will
set off this type of browser behavior?

It could be a 3rd party cookie problem.
Here is some good reading.

Blocking Unwanted Cookies with IE 6
There are several new features built-in to IE 6, one of them is the ability
to accept and\or block any or all cookies if desired.

p.s. make sure that the cookies are not blocked by some firewall or security
programs.
