IE6 won't show 'Screen Tips'

Hello, WinXP Home IE6.

On some websites with links/buttons, hovering the mouse pointer over a link
displays the little yellow-coloured 'screen tips' box (the same one when you
hover the Start button/taskbar and even this form). This ability has since
disappeared from the IE6 app only (not Windows). I have gone to Internet
Options to restore default IE settings but didnt work so I guess there's a
registry key that needs to be looked at. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

I don't remember a tooltip box in IE6. Instead it shows the URL in the
status bar.

sorry im probably not describing this properly.
on websites such as www.planetf1.com you can 'mouse over' links/pics and a
yellow tooltip box appears with link info etc.
this ability has stopped working.
i sent an email to www.planetf1.com and they said it could be a registry or
active-x control error.
do you know of any registry keys for IE6's tooltips?
