ie6 wont open properly

I run Windows ME on a Gateway. My Pc had a massive fall
out where 167 dll errors started at the same time. It
wasnt a virus. I slowly mananged to correct all the
errors. However, internet explorer stopped opening. It
briefly displays the hour glass icon, but then nothing
happens. I cant access aol to view webpages either. I
can still chat and email. My only way to use the internet
is to open AIM and then click on the ads at the top. To
make the window pop up. THen i can use the internet.
This is getting annoying. If anyone could email me a way
to fix this, i would be really grateful.
