IE6 will navigate to secure sites only

I'm having trouble with Internet Explorer 6. I can connect to my ISP, mail
and newsgroups work ok, but I can only navigate to WWW sites that are secure
.... ex. https sites. Is there a setting somewhere that is causing this
problem.
