IE6 SP1 Cumulative patch crashes win98 SE

Hi,

I just installed the latest security patch for IE
(Security Update 824145 ) on Windows 98 SE. I was asked to
reboot the computer after it installed and the machine
crashed on reboot. I can reboot in safe mode, in safe mode
with network support and in step-by-step mode if I say No
to load windows drivers ( which I think is the same as
Safe mode). I tried to uninstall the Security patch, but
could not see how to, so instead I rolled back IE to the
previous version which turned out to be 5.01. Still cannot
reboot the machine. Any ideas?

Internet Explorer Q824145
