ie6 sluggish key response

I'm running Window 98. I recently upgraded my browser to the latest
Internet Explorer 6 service pack. Now, when I type strings into search
boxes (e.g. Google, e-bay) or fill out an forms when ordering items
on-line, my key response is very sluggish. It takes a couple second or more
for each character that I type to appear and response to my arrow keys is
similar. It's very annoying. I don't have the problem with programs other
than ie and I haven't noticed the problem with Outlook Express either.
I've already tried clearing cache via Internet Explorer's Delete Files and
via the Cache Blaster program but neither have cleared up the problem.

Does anyone have any other ideas of what's going on?
