IE6 qhost/ search engine error

On my gf comp (this one) she can't use any search engines. When we try to use
them it either goes to some other search engine or says not available. When
we tried google.com it said she was infected with qhost virus and I tried
everything to repair/fix it but still nothing. Shes not coming up with any
virus on the scans that I use and I tried to fix it manually. Is there anyway
to fix this?

Or can I delete IE6 somehow and reinstall it? Maybe that would work but I
dont see a way to uninstall it so I can reinstall it.. ie already have a dl
version ready to install.. please help

Sounds more like malware than a virus. Maybe try Spybot Search and Destroy or
AdAware. Are you using a top notch virus program with up to date signatures?
