IE6 only opens https pages

WinXP. IE6. Will open SSL pages but not others. have
checked security and advanced security settings under
internet options and have rebooted numerous times. any
ideas? had to get on another computer to access the
microsoft site

The above problem can occur, if the security settings are not properly set.
