Hi Ben :)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, which really is a
must when asking for help in the newsgroups, but, try the following and see
if it helps:

Close all IE open windows but one. Open a webpage. Grab the lower right
corner of the screen there the 3 /// are with your mouse and move it in
toward the center to the size you want the window to be. Then click on any
link on that webpage and right-click> open in a new window.
Resize the second window to the desired size. Close the first IE window.
Then close that second resized window. Close IE using the File on the
toolbar, not the in the upper right corner. Then open IE and see if that
gives you what you want.

If not, post back with more specific information as to what you are trying
to do.

Hope this helps.

I'm so sorry forgot to say its Windows XP Home SP2. I'm afraid this doesn't
solve it, as soon as you open IE, the window opens but then starts not
responding, you cannot open any menus, press any buttons, etc or open a
webpage. Soon after a second IE window opens, with the same effects as the
first one.

Hi Ben :)

This behavior sounds like the work of malware or highjackware. Be aware,
your Anti-Virus won't detect all types of warez, Trojans, malware, worms,
etc., and neither can other adware or spyware related programs such as
AdAware and SpyBot. They don't have the proper definitions. They must also
be run in Safe Mode with Hidden Files enabled in order to fully scan all
files. Even if you have run such programs and nothing shows up, it does not
mean your system is clean. It takes a series of programs to fully clean
your machine. Some very aggressive and damaging variants of malware can
replicate themselves repeatedly, or mutate, if not removed properly. If you
cannot access the Internet, then download and copy the information and
removal items to a floppy rom another machine and install on the infected
machine. Follow the steps here:

Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Download and install HiJackThis. This is one of the most important steps.
Follow all instructions carefully. This program should be run in Normal
mode.
