iE6 Missing General Tab

The General Tab is suppose to appear under Tools,
Internet Options. It use to be there. Now it is gone!! So
annoying. I can't clear the history file, I can't set the
default web page. I have the latest in McAfee Virus
software and have scanned and cleaned all files. I even
tried to reload IE6 but it would not let me because it
said I already had a newer version of IE installed. Any
idea what could be wrong of what to do next? I guess I
deinstall IE and reinstall?
