General tab on Internet Options of Tools menu missing

My General tab on the Internet Options of the Tools menu of Internet Explorer
is missing. All other tabs are present. It was there and now it is gone. I've
reloaded Windows and reinstalled IE but it still isn't there. Any suggestions?

Probably something has been changed in your registry to hide it. See this

Hi there,

I've tried the download fixes provided and have gone into regedit and taken
a look - the keys are all there with 0's yet there are only the privacy and
programs tabs available thru internet options - any other ideas?

fyi - I have also downloaded cwshredder and ran it; and did a full scan
using my mcafee security centre, as well, I ran disk defragmenter the other
day and it completed fine - it was the end of the day so I closed the window
and shut down the system - the next day i ran into 'unmountable_boot_volume'
which was fixed by following your peers help, from that time is when I
noticed the missing tabs under internet options

any help is appreciated - tdr
