IE6 keeps crashing on me

IE6 keeps crashing on me on a regular basis. I mean like
15-20 /day.
I always get this error message:

IEXPLORE caused a general protection fault
in module USER.EXE at 0003:00001022.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as this is extremely

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
