IE6 freezes when clicking links

Hi all,
hope someone can help me:
I'm experiecing an annoying problem with IE6 SP1 under W2K.
Each time I click a link that opens a new windows, the new
IE windows fails to load and freezes, forcing me to close
it.
Other browser on the same PC (e.g. Crazy Browser) behave
properly.
