ie6 error messaged

Every time I go on line, I get Error in "VBscript.dll"
What the hell does that mean. It usually just goes away
when I click "close", but sometimes it just keeps popping
up until I have to reboot. Then, when I try to shut down,
I can't, because the "system is busy" and it's always
Internet Explorer, whether I'm online or not? Anyone know
how to fix this?

program (adware, spyware, parasite).
