IE6 encountered a problem and has to close

I am currently running windows xp sp2 and just recently started getting
booted out of IE6 saying it had encountered a problem and had to close. Here
is the detail that came with it.
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: winsflt.dll ModVer:
3.1.0.27 Offset: 0002b5ec

Its odd because it seems to be working fine and then I run a basic search
from the address bar. I get an "msn auto search" that takes the place of my
search and a blank page that says "done" at the bottom.

Then my computer starts running really slow and then I get the errr above.

If I run Ad-Aware and clean up the cookies it finds, everything runs okay
again for a while and then starts acting up again.

Has anyone had this problem?

You have some malware that isn't getting cleaned up. Go through the
steps here, including the preparatory work:
