IE6 crashing constantly

Dominic

Hello all.
I am having a SERIOUS problem with IE6 SP1. When ever I
launch IE to my homepage (msn.com), there are several pop
ups, and then the browser freezes, then crashes when i rty
to get rid of the pop ups. I also HAVE to click one of the
ads BEFORE i can do anything else (a blank window with a +
in the middle).
Is there any way to get rid of it?
I ahve done ALL of the Xp updates with the exception of
Service Pack 1....i bought this system from someone, and i
don't think he registered XP. If i get the SP, then I
might not be able to use the computer anymore...without
buying a new version of XP, and losing ALL of my info!!!!
Please help me.

You may have a Spyware parasite infestation.

Removal Tool, your choice, novice users, Lavasoft's Ad-aware,
http://www.lavasoft.de/res/aaw6.exe
Lavasoft/Ad-aware home: http://www.lavasoftusa.com

Advanced users, SpyBot Search & Destroy,
http://studserver.uni-dortmund.de/~su1669/spybotsd12.exe
SpyBot home: http://security.kolla.de/
SpyBot How-To: http://www.tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/

Install either but both are not necessary, reboot, read FAQ and overview, use
online update feature to obtain the latest reference files, scan for Spyware
much like you would with your pre-installed anti-virus scanner.
Rid your machine of unwanted Spyware pests.

HTH
