ie6 crashes when addresses entered into address bar

Running XP Pro & ie6 (with or without SP1), ie6 is
crashing whenever I physically enter a web address. It
will load my homepage & favourites fine and I can aslo
browse through links perfectly normally but will crash
the moment I enter an web address. I have tried
uninstalling ie6 and reinstalling and with or without SP1.
Please Help

Delete your IE history. That may fix things. Also, go to IE tools, internet
options, content, autocomplete and clear the web address cache. If that
doesn't work post back. There is some registry work that may need to be
done, but we won't go there unless we have to.
