IE6 -can connect to ISP - but pages not open

I have XP Home and use IE6. My ISP is Tiscali.uk. Out of the blue, above
problem. OE6 working fine, and as I say, I can connect to Tiscali, but
pages not then open: nothing happens - no warnings or the like. This
position going on for 1/2 a day now. IE6 settings ok and have tried other
programs. For example, use Spybot, but settings there ok. Have experienecd
before but can't remember what to do. Advice/solutions?

I worked out that this was because for Tiscali to work it needs to be able
to use pop-ups and I had them disabled in my firewall. I have now enabled
them for Tiscali only.
