ie6 and outlook

hi - hope you can help. i tried to do a windows update and
added a sevice pack to my ie6 (windows 98se) but after
this my outlook woundn't send or receive email and no
webpages would load up (just get the error page) yet my
connection is fine.

i tried to uninstall the servcie pack, but this just took
both packages back to version 5, but still the same errors.

please help !!

Which SP was it?

A couple of the service packs for IE are not uninstallable (you can remove
the new SP, but you can't restore the old files unless they're backed up in
a different directory). Also, is 98SE still supported by MS? Just curious.
I know 98 isn't.
