(I posted this request in the Windows XP NG, but I think I should have
posted it here.... can anyone help?)

I'm hoping that someone might be able to help me.

I'm unable to install Macromedia Flash Player on my PC

I am running Windows XP Home Edition on a Sony VAIO laptop.

Whenever I reach a Flash site I'm unable to gain access because I don't
have MM Flash installed, If I get re-directed to the MM site, or I go to
the site myself, I get taken to the following page:

http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Versio
n=ShockwaveFlash

I then click on the "Install" button and get taken to the following
page:

http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/triggerpages_mmcom/flash.ht
ml,
however, I only get a blank placeholder i.e. there is no Macromedia
Flash Player logo or anything else and nothing much else seems to happen
and Flash doesn't get installed.

I have been on several sites where MM Flash Player was required, have
been redirected as above with the same results.

I have looked at Internet options to see if any should be set/unset, but
nothing much seems to apply. As a further bit of information, I use Stop
Pops, but I have added the MM pages as not to be blocked, I've tried
other options not to block any MM pages, I've switched off Stop Pops,
but none of these actions seem to have any effect so I don't think it is
Stop Pops causing the problem.

Can anyone suggest a solution.....?

Many thanks,

Martin
