IE won't open

IE will no longer open on my computer. Whenever I click on it it
automatically generates an error message and shuts the window down. This is
true for shortcut and start menu. It is not a problem with the e-mail
connection. Can anyone help?

Same thing happened with my friend yesterday. It stopped working two days
ago, so I came over, formated the computer for him. Tried opening IE up, and
it opened. The only problem was is that the format wiped out all the internet
adapters so now his internet isn't working. Tried installing the adapters
from the CD-Rom but for some odd reason it's un able to connect with the
cable modem. So... if no one finds a solution to this problem, my suggest
would be to format if you don't have any valuable information stored onto
your computer and if you know what you're doing.

This is probably being caused by malware (adware, spyware, parasite,
hijacker, etc.)

Start by downloading and running CWShredder and Ad-aware.

If unsuccessful with those programs, you may have to post a HijackThis log
for analysis.
