IE won't open

When I try to open Internet Explorer, the message, "IE
has encountered a problem and needs to close" comes up -
everytime. The error signature is:
AppName: iexplore.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName: urlmon.dll

I've downloaded all available updates, Spybot S&D,
AdAware and Hijack This. At this point, I just want to
know if I can uninstall IE and then download it fresh
from somewhere and reinstall it. I have Windows XP Home.

You'll have to modify a setting in the registry.

Can I use System Restore to resolve this problem instead?
I'm not sure if I'm up for editing the registry - I don't
want to screw anything up further.

Before you try to fix it. Have you looked at the registry key to find out it
this is your problem?
