IE won't load pages only MSN will

I can't seem to get IE running and MSN not running. I don't want MSN and all of a sudden it's there and my IE doesn't work anymore. Not only that it happened on 2 machines. I reinstalled XP (repair option) on both no help. I've tried to load newer versions but it says I have the newest. It is 6.0 something. I called Dell to no avail. They call call microsoft.

I am also having this problem. Every aspect of my internet connection works, can run MSN explorer, netscape, MSN MSGR play games etc.... but no IE... Have tryed reinstalling windows over current installation, reinstalling IE uninstalling a few things... one min IE worked and the next it dident... Next thing I can think of is format and reinstall but I have to much stuff on my HD to do that, cant loose those files. If anybody figures this out sure would be nice...
