IE has been very slow since January with the new security update. I have
been looking a various postings on many sites and quite a few postings are
stating that they think that the problem is that the auto update being on is
constantly checking with microsoft to see if there are any new updates and
resourses are being used for that. I tried to stop the auto updates and that
helped a little. The system is irradict and sometimes is is fine and other
times it is really slow.
About the time that my system downloaded the new update in January my virus
software (norton) advised me of a virus which it could not delete or
quarantine. I have since downloaded PC Cenillin from T MICRO and added Spy
doctor and I think that I have been able to eliminate the virus (no more
notifications). I did read that someone had been able to gain access to
Microsofts update and attached a virus to that update.
