IE Unable to launch Download window

I have this strange problem, when i click on a link which is supposed to
launch a download window. This is a specific word document window. The
problem is this; I am unable to download this document, the document is
opening in the browser and I am unable to save this document as word
document. Please help.

Quick fix - right click on the link and choose "Save Target As..."

Assuming XP - go to My Computer...Tools...Folder Options...File Types.
Scroll down to the file type in question, click to highlight it, click
Advanced button. Click to put a checkmark besides "Confirm open after
download", click Okay, click Okay. Reboot may be required.
