IE slow to start

If I try to start IE immediately after booting up, it takes anywhere from 3
to 5 minutes to open its IE window. Task Manager shows that the iexplore.exe
has started, but that several other processes continue to start after it.
After the computer has been on for 5 or 10 minutes, I have no problem at all
starting ie.

I am running XP SP2, with the latest ie6, Norton Antivirus, ZoneAlarm,
Spybot, etc. I have gone throught the scrub process of removing all
extraneous programs at start up, cleaned out every ie cache imaginable, and
still this occurs.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bob

Run MSCONFIG at the Startup tab disable everything except your anti-virus.
