IE shuts down anytime I click a new link prior to current page load completion

Anyone who can help:

While browsing in IE 6.0, any time I click a link on a
partially loaded page the program experiences a fault and
shuts down. I then get the "Do you want to report the
problem?" message. I am running Win XP home edition. I
thought it might be my firewall software, but the problem
exists even if zone alarm pro is not running. Any
ideas? Hitting the "stop" button with every slow page
load is getting old.
