IE 6 - Windows XP SP2. When launching the web broswer it opens up and then
shuts down straight away. (like a flash) Nothing still open if you look in
task manager and I have run anti spyware software rebooted but it still
doesn't work. Also Have tried to uninstall IE and reinstall it. The registry
looks ok - i think.
Has anyone got any suggestions on what I can do before I have to rebuild the
workstation.

Hi Kate,
Is it being working before?, and do you have any other than IE browser
installed (i.e firefox, google, yahoo).
Try to Reinstall/Repair for IE by reading this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378/EN-US/
Or do System Restore to an earlier date while everything been working fine.

On how to do system restore read the instructions in this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q306084

Hi nass
Thank you for responding.
Yes it did work fine before. I had checked add/remove and removed a shed
load of unessary toolbar, screensaver and games programmes. I then ran Ad
Aware and Spybot search and destroy. Rebooted and retried.
They do now have Firefox loaded as they do need internet access and this
works fine.
They don't have system restore turned on so I can't go back in time. Some
times don't you wish we could!!
I will try to follow your suggestions and get back.
Again thank you for your support and time.
Kate
