IE shutdowns, etc . . .

I don't know if anyone else is having these kind of problems, but here goes
.. . .

I just installed the Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade (from XP home media
edition) two days ago on my new hp home computer (a christmas gift from the
wife), and now I keep getting the message "Internet Explorer is shutting
down" whenever I try to surf the web . . . Then the thing shuts off and
restarts to the desktop. Frustrating to say the least.

I have found that most of my periphals - hp printer, scanner, and Kodak
camera dock are having issues with Vista also. I am beginning to think that
maybe Microsoft has pulled another "Millenium" snafu, or something like
that. I had a lot of similar problems with the first XP Service Pack 2 a
few years ago. Took them almost a year to fix that mess . . .

If this keeps up, I will have to go back to XP.

Anybody got any ideas on how to make this thing work as advertised?

IE shutting down could be a virus ?

Please dont compare Vista with ME, that should never have been released.

With regards to your external stuff, that is not Vista issue, its down to
your manufaturers, if there is no new driver then it is them to blame...
they knew vista was coming out and if they haven't made a driver for it then
THEY are forcing you to spend extra on new equipment.

Hi,
Re: Internet Explorer...
You probably have an incompatible browser add-on.
See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
for troubleshooting information.

Installing the latest version of the troublesome add-on may resolve this,
or
the add on may not yet be compatible with IE7.

The troublesome program may not show up as an add-on. Disable other
security, privacy, ad-blocking programs to see if one of them is causing
the
problem. Any program that interacts with Internet Explorer could be
causing
this. The connection with IE may not be obvious, such as Google Desktop.
.
A firewall will probably not be causing this problem, but turn on the
Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before disabling a
third-party firewall or security suite.

Re: Printer, scanner, camera dock...
Have you checked hp.com and kodak.com for updated software?
