IE Search page changing!

D

Dean

I recently found the MY default search kept changing due to some Malware and
so on.

After removing the said ILLEGAL HIGHJACKING software my search has not
returned to normal.

I followed the advice of a lot of people on here, including a registry hack
to return IE search to normal but it has not fixed the issue.

Can someone inform me of the correct URL for IE 6.0.2800 Windows XP.

I would also like to know what Microsoft is doing about this problem with
there software?

Firebird sounds like a good option at the moment, even has a built in POP-UP
BLOCKER, unlike IE.

Would also like to know how many other people are having this issue too.

Thanks for any help.

I get the same, used all the norton scans and updates..
found the TrojanStartup virus and went through the
regedit as directed but could not find the files they
tell you to remove and delete... so i deal with these
annoying pop ups etc and every time I change my home page
to something like Google, it reverts back to this bugus
search page.... When you find some answers.. let me
know what to do please...

Thanks

Already did that following your instructions.

Problem is within XP I get the search assistant, I no longer get it, and
when I use the search I get MSN search webpage open within the search area,
if I click on a link within it, the new page opens within the search box,
Unable to make it open in the right side frame any longer.

All I want is to get my old IE search back again.

Thanks for your help.
