IE Repair Tool

I have W98 and IE v6. I used to be able to click Start|Settings|Control
Panel and then scroll down to Microsoft Internet Explorer v. 6 (or something
like that) and click the ADD/REMOVE button|Repair Internet Explorer. I now
cannot find Microsoft Internet Explorer or anything even close to that name
in my Scroll Down List. What could have happened to it? I still use IE.
When I click on Help it says I have Version 6.0.2800.1106IC. What could have
happened to it?

Hi eladdlorah :)

Try going to Start>Search>enter ie6setup.exe (or try ie5setup.exe if
ie6setup.exe does not show up)
Double click on the file to open it, then follow the prompts from there.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Hi,
From: 194177 - Description of the Internet Explorer Repair Tool:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;194177 (at the end
of the article.)

Go to Start> Run. Type in or copy and paste this command. Hit Enter.

rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt"

That should invoke IE repair.

In add/remove programs, sometimes it's necessary to uninstall an update
(with a name similar to Q876543) before IE appears in the list.

Hope this helps,
Don

"eladdlorah",

Go to Find > Files or Folders > search for: cpl > d.c. Appwiz.cpl >
just in case you may have more luck.

Regards,
Emrys Davies.
