From the website
http://www.unhsolutions.net/IE-Privacy-Keeper/index.html

"Whether you are using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, IE Privacy
Keeper automatically cleans up the browser history once you are done
surfing the net. The program will correctly clean up all index.dat files
without the need for a Windows restart."

Without a windows restart? Interesting...Renaming trick?

"IE Privacy Keeper will also take care of your offline (system) activity.
Opened or deleted documents, viewed pictures and movies, applications
run... Everything is gone forever..."

Not as comprehensive as CCleaner though.

"Special unique features of IE Privacy Keeper allow you to conceal the
cleanup. You can keep selective items in the browsing history and hide
the program form the list of running applications. Secure deletion will
make any attempts to recover deleted items fail."

Keeping selective items (cookies, history,passwords, urls) is fairly
unique I think.

Secure deletion is great and essential these days when any Tom, Dick and
Harry can download and use some disk recovery tools to recover deleted
data. Still the FAQ says it's not 100% foolproof, I suspect Eraser would
be better if you are paranoid.

There is this option to keep the program prcess hidden from taskmanager
which is kind of cute. Process explorer sees it though,

"Key Features:

* Cleans up Interent Explorer and Mozilla Firefox history
* Cleans up index.dat files without the need for a Windows restart
* Keep selected items
* Cleans up your offline activity traces
* Cleans up custom folders and registry keys
* Automatically cleans up when IE or Firefox exits
* Various notification methods
* Secure deletion"

Includes "takealong version"

"The TakeAlong version of IE Privacy Keeper is especially designed for
cases when you cannot or don't wish to install IE Privacy Keeper using
the setup program. For instance, when you are renting a computer in a
cyber cafe or when you have restricted rights on your computer at work.

The TakeAlong version is a standalone executable that does not require
installation or the presence of any auxiliary files. It will not write
anything to the registry on the machine where it is executed. You can
take it along on a diskette, CD or a USB Drive."

Very nice. I'm sold!

I just noticed that IE privacy keeper as a small non-intrusive link to
another shareware product produced by the same company at the bottom of the
interface.

So it would be technically adware.
