I'm using IE 6.0.2900.2180 with SP2. When I set pop-up blocker On and
set to High, I still get some pop-ups. Will using some other blocker
stop the pop-ups, or is the one in IE as good as it gets?
Get a better popup blocker, like
http://www.popupcop.com, which also has
Flash content control, cookie whitelisting, and lots of other features. I
tried several of them and chose this one. It isn't free but it has been far
more effective than the freebies, like IE popup blocker, Google Toolbar
popup blocker, Yahoo Companion Toolbar's popup blocker, and others. Rather
than run continuous in the background as a process whether or not you are
browsing, PopUpCop is only enabled when IE is loaded. Obviously while you
are browsing is the only time you need to block popups. It also has
irritiation levels so you can switch how restrictive you want to be when
browsing.
You get what you pay for. Sometimes the free stuff is excellent, but that
doesn't seem to apply to freebie popup blockers.
