IE policy settings via AD USERS POLICY

Hello,
I have created a users policy to define the IE Proxy
server settings and exceptions settings for all the users.
We have 1 AD Domain spanning 2 SITES.We have 3 DC's (1 at
remote location and 2 at the IT Data center). we have 25
remote locations (connected via Frame-Relay to the IT Data
center).
1. All sites have a DNS server running as "secondary" DNS
and as such have a copy of the AD domain zone with all the
appropriate records.
2. All the users authenticate using the domain controllers
at the IT data center.
3. The subnets for all the remote sites have been added to
the AD Sites and Services and associated with the IT Data
Center AD Site.
4. No access-lists on the routers that would block AD
stuff.

Here is the issue: When the users at the remote site
authenticate to the domain, their IE PROXY settings are
blank (as in not configured), the Group Policy defined on
the OU should set the IE PROXY settings, but it does not.
There are no errors on the DC's or the workstation,
everything from AD side checks out. I am completely lost,
any help will be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

Hello Shariq Siddiqui, are settings applied to an OU and users and computers
for the particular remote site is within that OU? How ever use the site
objects and link a GPO for each site if you need different Proxy Settings
from site to site. The end users should always have correct proxy settings
then.

You can take use of the follow policy settings within a GPO to fit your
company's needs for Proxy Configuration.

User Configuration Node

Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\
Disable caching of Auto-Proxy scripts

Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\
Display error message on proxy script download failure

Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\
Disable changing proxy settings

Computer Configuration Node

Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\
Make proxy settings per-machine (rather than per-user)

I Hope that helps you.
