These messages are coming out when I try to access help
pages, etc.:
The page cannot be displayed &
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you
requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable.

I noticed it when I was trying to do my taxes - now I am
in real trouble. Got any ideas! I tried to load the IE 6
Service Pack 1, but when I try to run the setup it comes
back and says it is unable to download information about
available installations sites. Setup may have been unable
to use your current proxy server settings.

Anyone got any ideas???

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
