I just upgraded to broadband and now when I open IE 6 I get the following message, "Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable." This occurs with any web address. MSN works fine, but I want to cancel it. Any ideas?

Hi!
I have the same problem. Happends with certain homepages.
I've called microsoft support but they said they don't
support users using win98,me,2000 anymore and asked me to
reas the newsgroup instead.

The ping test works. I went through that with the ISP tech. There's no problem with my internet connection. The problem is in the Internet Explorer software. MSN works just fine.

The ping test works.

Really? What address did it give? Last time I tried to ping Yahoo!
it was blocked. Perhaps your HOSTS file is redirecting you?

In any case ping doesn't prove that there is a server available
at that address. What do you see if you telnet to port 80 there?
It should be sufficient just to type: GET /

However, I think that your real problem may be your TIF.
Did you clear it before you tried to start using your new service?
Does the problem occur only on sites you have previously visited?
If the TIF was not cleared IE may be sending it information that it learned
from your old service and possibly confusing the new one.

Good luck
