IE - Page cannot be displayed

I cannot access a popular web site "Macys.Com" when using IE, OR the browser
in SBC Yahoo. I have spent hours trying to fix this problem. First, I
worked through all of the suggestions on "The page cannot be displayed" page.
Then I deleted all cookies then temporary internet files. I came to
Microsoft web site and updated all of my software. I installed the latest
security update for IE 6 for XP Service Pack 2. I have no add-ons on my
system. I updated my antivirus software, and ran both spyware and security
checks. No infected files were found. I CAN access Bloomingdales.com, which
is owned by same company as Macys, and they are supposed to use same software
and protocols. I have called SBC Yahoo for support and Macys technical group
for help, NO ONE HAS HELPED ME! I sure would like to fix this problem. Any
ideas????

Hi Nancy :)

There was a recent post regarding SBC Yahoo, and poster here was having a
problem with opening multiple windows. Another reader who also has SBC
Yahoo suggested the following, so you might take a look at the information
and see if it will help you:

If you have SBC, check the following:

Go to Control Panel>Add andRemove programs
Go to SBC Yahoo applications
Click change and remove
Expand SBC Yahoo Online Protection
Remove the pop up blocker

also..

Check your host file and be sure the site is not being blocked by it:

How to Edit HOST File:

How to use the Hosts File

Hope this helps.
