IE on Linux?

T

Tim Smith

Hi,

Does anyone know whether Microsoft will ever port IE to other OS's (i.e
Linux, FreeBSD, OSX)? With the rising dominance of alternative browsers,
will MS now comply with web standards and truly become a viable
alternative in the browser market and thus feel confident that it could
survive on other platforms as other alternative browsers have.

I am looking forward to testing out IE7 and I hope that this is a supior
version of it's formers self. However, I think I will be dissapointed if
it is just a "bells and whsitles" release and none of the real problems
have been fixed then I do not see the point of this release.

In a connected issue, does anyone know where I can find information
about the CSS support for IE7 and how it compares to the W3C and what
has been fixed exactly?

Many Thanks,

Tim

Well I've just uninstalled IE7 Beta because it doesn't measure up to Firefox
1.5 IMHO......

The simple answer is NO.

All I can say is that E7 starts up and loads pages faster then IE6 and FF1.5

I seriously doubt IE will be coming out on other platforms. That stopped
back with IE 5.x

As for your CSS question, go to http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/ and search for
"CSS" for all the posts and discussions there.

I disagree. FF 1.5 is a superior product in every way.
