IE not loading pages but YIM is running fine

My Internet Explorer will not load any pages, but the Internet is connected, as Yahoo Instant Messenger still works fine. I asked people about it, and someone thought it was the sasser worm. However, my computer does not shut down unless I tell it to, and there is no rasser.exe in the System32 folder. So the patch he told me about seems useless. I just want to know what's wrong so I can fix it. I am currently using another computer to write this message. This computer is on the same Internet line (and the same jack, as I have a line doubler in) but this one is a 98 and not an XP like the other one, so it's working fine
