IE "no response"

Whenever I first start Internet Explorer it states on the Window at the top
"no response" and I have to wait about 30 seconds for it to engage. It is
really annoying as my girlfriend says her computer is better than my super
computer because of this! Any advice?

What is website your home page set to? If it is a slow loading website, this
could be the problem.

You might want to get AdAware and run it for any spyware that may have
invaded the system.

if you connect to the internet via a dial up modem, try disabling the nic in
your computer(if one is present).
